LEVEL 3/4 FOUNDATION DIPLOMA ART & DESIGN-PRE DEGREE
This course is specifically intended to prepare you for entry to
Higher Education and future employment in the Creative Industries.
You will explore a wide range of 2D and 3D processes in art and
design such as 3D, drawing, fine art, textiles, fashion, graphics
and photography, designed to help you select a specialist area of
study. In the final part of the course you will be involved in
proposing, planning, creating and exhibiting a major project. This

studies.
Essential Skills and Wider Skills are undertaken and are an important part of the programme.
How you will gain the qualification
You will be required to gain a pass on each of the units in Stages 1 and 2. Upon completion of the 3rd unit and Final Major Project, you may achieve the overall grade of pass, merit or distinction.
What qualifications you need
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English Language
and an Art or art related subject preferred grade A* - B. The
majority of students will possess A Levels (including one Art
related subject) or an equivalent Diploma qualification awarded at
Merit or Distinction level.
In all cases entry is by interview to assess your suitability and you must have a portfolio of advanced art work, which includes a substantial number of observational drawings and/or paintings, crafts, textiles, 3D work and photography.
