BTEC L3 Extended Dip Art & Design Yr 1

Who is this course for? This two year full time programme is aimed at learners interested in pursuing a career in an art and design 2D or 3D specialism. What qualifications or experience do I need ? 5 GCSEs Grade A* - C including English, or a BTEC L2 First Diploma (Distinction or Merit) in a related subject * Functional Skills L1 in English. What will I study ? You will be introduced to a range of 2D and 3D disciplines related to art and design developing the relevant skills required for you to specialise in one of these during your second year. The course will also provide you with the opportunity to study the work of artists, designers and craftspeople through contextual studies. Developing skills in professional practice is also a key component of this qualification. How will I be assessed ? Assessment is formative and coursework is assessed throughout the year. What qualifications could I achieve ? BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design What can the course lead to ? This 3 A level equivalent programme will provide you with a qualification to apply to HE / Foundation Degree or BA programme. How do I join the course ? Complete and return an application form to admissions for an interview to be arranged. Will I need an interview ? Yes. * Present a Portfolio of Art & Design work. * A piece of writing describing your interests and why you are applying for this programme. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? You may also need to purchase art & design materials to complete your practical work throughout the academic year - your tutor will advise. Further Information Students will study Functional Skills English and ICT as part of the 2 year programme.
