Full Time

The Level 2 Diploma in Horse Care is ideal for those starting their career in the Equine Industry. It developes the practical skills and knowledge required to work in the Equine Industry. Students will also undertake Work Experience. Riding and non-riding routes are available.




Students will extend their literacy and numeracy skills by completing Essential Skills and undertake the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification.



How you will gain the qualification

Students gain the qualification by completing a series of practical and written assessments.

What qualifications you need

At least 4 GCSEs at Grade A* to D including English Language/Welsh and either Maths or Science. Alternatively successful completion of a Level One Diploma qualification in a related subject with Distinction for the Portfolio Grade.




Students progressing from Level 1 must show literacy and numeracy skills at Level 1 to enrol. Entry requirements may be waived for mature students. This is dependent on qualifications and experience.


Where to next

Learners with appropriate grades may progress onto the Level 3 course in Horse Management. Learners can also progress onto our apprenticeship or into Employment.
