Part TimeThe course is based on 12 modules of study.
Each module covers a particular area of child care and education. The candidate may wish to complete the whole Degree or individual modules.
There is a large practical element when students will have the opportunity to apply theory to practice. A variety of teaching methods will be used and visiting speakers and specialists will contribute to the programme.
Candidates will be duel registered with Yale and Glyndwr and all the facilities of both institutions will be available whilst completing the course.

What qualifications you need
A learner will be offered a place on the course if s/he meets the following requirements:
Is qualified to level 3 in Early Childhood Studies or other related subject area such as Teaching Assistance (NVQ or vocationally appropriate qualification and has relevant experience of working with children, or has appropriate full A level or vocational A level or an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Early Years or other appropriate subject (e.g. Childhood Studies, Care).
Is employed within the field of Early Years or can obtain substantial, regular, voluntary placement experience.
Demonstrates that they have the ability to benefit from and contribute to this course of study at interview.
Satisfies the Programme/Course team leader that s/he is able to cope with the demands of the course and is likely to complete the programme.

This course aims to provide significant professional development for those already in employment and may lead to increased promotion prospects or access to further, higher education. Students who successfully complete this course will be eligible to go straight into the final year of an hons degree in family and childhood studies.
