Course Content

This scheme enables candidates to:

  • Acquire an ability to describe and use all the drawing commands
  • Produce drawings for a wide range of uses such as engineering & architecture
  • Edit existing drawings
  • Gain experience in the use of blocks
  • Acquire an understanding of the potential use of blocks in the creation of custom libraries.

Assessment Method

The assessment programme requires assessment of practical competence together with confirmation that you have acquired the necessary underpinning knowledge. There are THREE practical assignments and ONE multi choice question paper.

This is the highest level qualification offered by the College in this subject area. Students may, however, wish to look at the other specialist engineering courses available.

Additional Information

The course is taught using AutoCAD 2006. All students will be interviewed prior to starting the course.

Entry Requirements

This course is intended for students who have previously been successful in the City & Guilds 4353 Computer Aided Drawing Level 2. Students who are employed in the area of CAD may also be considered for this course.
