General information
Suitable for students with a keen interest in ICT this course provides opportunities for learners to gain a nationally recognised vocational qualification. It is coursework based with no exams. The structure of the course is made up of two compulsory units giving a thorough introduction to computer systems and application software. There is also a selection of specialist units such as:
• web design
• networking
• graphics
• mobile technology
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs grade A-D including English Language and Maths or relevant Level 1 qualification (merit or distinction)
Progression
BTEC Level 3 Diploma for IT Practitioners or employment in the IT industry.
