This qualification provides evidence for those who already have experience of office based skills, perhaps in, or preparing for a line management or supervisory role. The opportunity is also provided to show the ability to negotiate, supervise, manage and contribute to the running of an office.

What will I study?

4 mandatory units (which total 13 credits) must be completed – Manage own performance in a business environment, Evaluate and improve own performance in a business environment, Work in a business environment, Communicate in a business environment.

A wide range of optional units are available to make up the total number of required credits. Units are available from the following areas of study:

Work responsibilities, Leadership and management, Business support services, Project management, Events and meetings, Document production, Communications, Customer Service, Manage information and data, Business resources, Innovation and change, Health, safety and security, Information technology, Specialised business support services (human resources, parking, education, legal).

How will the course be delivered?

This qualification is competence based, this means that it is linked to your ability to completely perform a range of tasks connected with your work. Assessments will be carried out on your daily activities using a range of planned assessment methods i.e. observation, discussion and questioning. All delivery is in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?
All of the qualification will be assessed in the work place by your individual assessor from the College. Your assessor will visit you a minimum of once a month and will assist you in compiling a portfolio of evidence.

Course Entry Criteria

Business Administration Level 2 or relevant business experience.

The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:

• More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
• 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
• 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
• 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
• Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost

All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.

What will I get at the end of the course?

OCR/NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Business & Administration detailing the optional units you have chosen

What can I do next?

Obtaining this qualification will prove your work based competency within an office environment, supporting your skills in leadership and any speciality areas as well as future job applications within this area.

Progression to the Level 4 NVQ in Business and Administration (dependant on job role), or study in Customer Service or IT qualifications.

How much does it cost?

£725.00 per delegate. (Prices are subject to change)

The course fee includes skills analysis, course enrolment, NVQ registration, NVQ assessment, internal and external verification and certification.
