ABOUT BLACKBURN COLLEGE

Blackburn College has been providing education for over 125 years and provides both further and higher education provision on its £50m and growing state of the art campus.

Blackburn College has an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspection, which means that you can feel confident that you will receive the best education possible delivered to a very high standard. Indeed we were one of the first Colleges in the whole country to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ across the whole College.

We currently have over 15,000 students of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and interests, studying on courses from Entry Level through to Masters degrees. Our courses are designed to create the skilled, qualified people needed to help this lively, harmonious region of Pennine Lancashire to thrive and develop further.

• Largest Further Education college in Pennine Lancashire providing employment focused Vocational courses, Apprenticeships, A Levels, Degrees and Professional qualifications to 15,000 students and 1,000 employers for over 120 years.

• 100% Success in 116 Vocational Courses, with 142 Triple Distinctions (equivalent to 3 As at A level). Apprenticeship success rate of 89% versus national average of 64% and a 99.2% A level pass rate including 69.5% A* - C grades. We also had the highest ever number of graduates with First Class Honours in 2011, one in ten students.
