What will I study?

Developed and perfected over years in the industry our professional patisserie chef will be with you throughout the course giving you the time and space away from your business to learn how to make and bake various slice lines, cakes, flans and pastry products at the highest level.

This will include a selection of the following choux, sweet and short and biscuits. You will be instructed in the pitfalls of what can so easily go wrong, how to identify it and how to put it right so that you can create the perfect coffee accompaniment every time!

Products included:

  • Savoury quiche & vegetarian pasties
  • Custard tart
  • Choux pastry, choux buns, profiteroles and chocolate sauce
  • Slice lines millionaire shortbread, flap jack, tiffin slice, cocomunch slice, parkin slice

You will then be able to offer your customers a truly delicious bespoke treat made by you that everyone will enjoy and return for time after time. This will no doubt raise your standards and enable you to offer a range of sweet and cake products that will be the envy of your competitors.

How will the course be delivered?

Through classroom based activities alongside a tutor and other delegates at a similar level.

Course Entry Criteria

There are no entry criteria other than a keen interest in this subject.

The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:

  • More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
  • 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
  • 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
  • 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
  • Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost

All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.

What will I get at the end of the course?

You will receive a Blackburn College Certificate of Attendance.
