If English is not your first language and you are settling in the UK this course is for you. If you are here for a short period of time, before returning to your country, then EFL (English as a Foreign Language) would be more suitable. What does the course involve?

This course will look at the skills needed to communicate in English in everyday situations. You will practice reading, writing, speaking, pronunciation and listening in English. You will also learn about the culture of the UK. There will be lessons that look at employment and work and you will have the opportunity to complete voluntary work as part of your course. There will also be lessons for Maths and ICT as part of the course. There will also be enrichment trips to various places locally and in London. This is a full time course that runs for thirty weeks. You will complete at least 15 hours a week which will include ESOL, Maths and ICT. There will also be independent study hours to complete in our skills base. You will get a qualification in ESOL, Maths, ICT and Employability.

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? You will be able to progress onto a further course to improve your English further. You will be given advice and guidance on alternative courses within the college.
