CACHE Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools (QCF) 12 credits

Who is the course for?

This qualification is an introduction to the information and knowledge needed to work in a school environment and is suitable for those who are interested in working in a school.

This award is an introductory course for people who are interested in being a teaching assistant but are unable to find a voluntary placement. Please note if you are able to get a voluntary placement you may be eligible to attend the CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, please contact us for further information.

What will I study?

There are five units which cover:

• Child and young person development
• Safeguarding welfare of children and young people
• Communication and relationships
• Equality, diversity and inclusion
• Schools as organisations

How will the course be delivered?

Through college based workshops as well as independent study.

Course Entry Criteria

This course is suitable for those who are interested in being a teaching assistant but are unable to find a voluntary placement.

The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:

• More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
• 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
• 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
• 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
• Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost

All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.

What will I get at the end of the course?

On successful completion of the course delegates will achieve 12 credits and a CACHE Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools (QCF) certificate.
