Description
The BTEC in Public Services is targeted at learners who would like to gain employment
in the public services sector and has been developed to provide further training and education within
this sector. The qualifications will develop learners’ abilities through the knowledge and skills gained in the
programme and are suitable for learners who would like to know more about employment in uniformed or
non-uniformed public services.

The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Public Services is a 60-credit qualification with specialist units that include:
- Government, policies and the public services
- Leadership and teamwork in the public services
- Understanding discipline in the uniform services
- Physical preparation for the public services
- Fitness testing and training for the uniform public services
- Skills for Land based activities
- Outdoor adventurous activities
Entry Requirements
you will require a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above including English (or equivalent). A BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Public Services with Merit is also accepted. We will request a supporting reference from your previous school/college.
Delivery & Assessment methods
A broad range of assessment methods are adopted including written assignments, practical activities, presentations and debates/discussions. Your progress will be monitored and tracked by your Course tutor. Study support sessions are offered to all our learners and we have an excellent learning support zone that provides small group and 1-2-1 tuition.
Progression
Some learners may wish to progress further and achieve a Level 3 Extended Diploma or progress into Employment
