Entry Requirements

Applicants should have one of the following; A BTEC Level 3 qualification in a Construction or relevant Engineering discipline. An A level in Mathematics, with supporting GCSEs in English and Science. A pass on an a relevant Access to HE Course. A City and Guilds Level 3 in a Construction, Building Services or Electrical Installation field. An IELTS score of at least 6.0 (if English is not a first Language). Equivalent qualifications to the above may be acceptable. Applicants who do not meet the academic entry requirements above but have substantial relevant industrial experience will be considered.

Delivery & Assessment methods

Attendance is required over two academic years commencing September 20th 2012 and completing in July 2014. The course is delivered one day per week, (Year 1: Thursdays: 09.00 - 17:00). The course delivery will include formal lectures, discussion, case studies, research, site visits and a group project. The group project is delivered in year 2 and enables the student to work in a team on a project of commercial significance. Assessment will be by assignments and group project.

Progression

Students successfully completing the course should be able to gain entry (subject to interview, and regulations of the particular university) to Stage 2 of an appropriate honours degree which is RICS accredited.
