Description

This course is for anyone working in a catering or hospitality setting where food is prepared, cooked and served. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) has designed its course to give first tier workers an appreciation of the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice.

The Health and Safety at work programme has been developed in line with the standards needed for any member of staff entering the Hospitality & Catering trade. It will give any staff member a grounding to ensure that they work in, and ensure a safe environment towards their team workers, themselves and the public

Course content

Firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved; Understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling); Confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required, but a basic level of English is recommended for the Level 2 course.

Delivery & Assessment methods

The programme will be delivered in our outstanding Academy. You will have access to the latest state of the art commercial learning environment. You will have the opportunity to work on the latest Samsung SMART Technology devices to help underpin the knowledge components of the training programme.

Progression

On completion of this qualification candidates may progress into advanced level 3 unit that entail the above course content
