Description

Learners will explore a variety of literary texts, including prose, poetry and drama. They will also develop their skills as independent, confident and reflective writers.

Course content

Unit 1: Poetry and Drama (examination) Learners will study two collections of Poetry and one play. Unit 2: Prose Study and Creative Reading (coursework) Learners will study three prose texts and produce one extended essay and a piece of creative writing with a critical commentary.

Delivery & Assessment methods

The coursework is worth 40% of the AS qualification. The examination is worth 60% of the AS qualification.
