Over the year, you will study a total of six texts, which will include a selection of drama, poetry and prose. One of the drama texts is likely to be a play by Shakespeare and the rest of the texts will be drawn from pre 20th century and modern literature.
You will be taught in a variety of ways including lecturing, class discussion, small group work and private study.
As well complementing GCSE English Language and developing your reading and analytical skills, this course is a good foundation for those aiming to study Literature at A Level.

Assessment:You will be assessed through a combination of 30% written coursework and 70% written examination.
