This 10 week short course is perfect for people working in the animal industry who wish to update their infection control management ability, it can also be used by organisations for CPD provision.

Programme Aims
This course follows the QCF L3 VN5 unit that is incorporated in to the Diploma in Veterinary Nursing syllabus; this course is however offered as an attendance certificate only programme aimed at those working in the animal industry who wish to update their infection control management ability plus can also be used as an organisations’ CPD provision.

Topics

  • Disease transmission; infection and how it affects animal and human health (nature of micro organisms including common parasites);
  • Principles of disinfection and sterilisation; maintaining environments;
  • Personal hygiene in relation to cross infection;
  • Infection monitoring

Teaching methods
Lectures, demonstrations, practicals and discussion.

Please note: A maximum of 15 attendees will produce an intimate teaching environment with opportunities for one to one attention.
