Level 3 Extended Diploma in Wildlife and Environmental Conservation

This is a new qualification offering a blend of practical and theory based learning set within the stunning East Devon countryside. This course is perfect for anyone wanting to develop ecological skills and techniques required to identify, monitor and manage wildlife species in the UK.

It is essential that your Initial Assessment results show that you are working at Level 2. You will also need to have achieved 4 GCSEs at grades A-C, including English, Maths and Science or equivalent.

• Principles of wildlife and populations, ecology and conservation
• Estate skills
• Investigative project in the land-based sector
• Work experience
• Wildlife rehabilitation
• Coastal management
• Greenwood crafts
• Archaeology and landscape history

Functional Skills
You will also gain nationally recognised functional skills qualifications (English, Maths and ICT).

Successful students may wish to carry on in education and progress to a Foundation Degree or degree programme (please see our University Level online course guide for more information). Career opportunities are available in a wide range of industries, for example as specialists in environmental protection, countryside ranger, or farm wildlife adviser.
