Level 1 Certificate

- To learn how to work safely, effectively and efficiently in the equine workplace
- To reduce unnecessary risks to themselves and others
- To improve learners' awareness of Health and Safety legislation and see how individuals can contribute to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) agenda
The qualification consists of 6 mandatory: (Total of 16 credits)
- Principles of maintaining Health and Safety in the work place (2 credits)
- Principles of cleaning the stables and yard (3 credits)
- Assist with cleaning the stables and yard (4 credits)
- Groom and wash horses under direction (3 credits)
- Principles of putting on and taking off tack (1 credit)
- Assist with putting on and taking off tack (3 credits)
This is a non-riding course, however subject to a riding assessment we maybe able to offer some private tuition outside your course.
