Course DescriptionThe aim is to meet the needs of learners who work or wish to work in the animal care industry and to allow the students to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment or career progression in the animal care or veterinary nursing sector. Units include:
- Animal Establishments
- Animal Behaviour and Handling
- Animal Breeds and Grooming
Functional Skills
You will also work towards nationally recognised functional skills
qualifications (English, Maths and ICT).
The teaching of these subjects will be a combination of both theory and practical sessions.
Assessment strategies will consist of practical observations,
written evidence, reports and presentations.
Successful learners may progress to a full time post 16 Level 3 programme, Apprenticeship or employment.
All progression routes are reliant on the student reaching certain levels of Literacy and Numeracy.
