Full Time

The Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care is ideal for those starting their career in the Animal Care Industry. It developes the practical skills and knowledge required to work in the Animal Care Industry. Students will also undertake Work Experience.




Students will extend their Literacy and Numeracy skills by completing Essential Skills and undertake the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification.

Students gain the qualification by completing a series of practical and written assessments.

What qualifications you need

At least 4 GCSEs at Grade A* to D including English Language/Welsh and either Maths or Science. Alternatively successful completion of a Level One Diploma qualification in a related subject with Distinction for the Portfolio Grade.


Students progressing from Level 1 must show Literacy and Numeracy skills at Level 1 or above in order to enrol.




Entry requirements may be waived for mature learners. This is dependent on qualifications and experience.


Where to next

Learners with appropriate grades may progress onto the Level 3 course in Animal Management. Learners can also progress onto an apprenticeship or into employment.
