This course is designed to enable learners to develop the underpinning knowledge, values and understanding for the Health and Social Care Sector, as well as enhancing practical skills.  The Diploma is made up of sixteen units, which are assessed through assignment work and class presentations. Units include:

Principles of Health and Social Care Practice
Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care
Working in Partnership in Health and Social Care

In addition to College based learning,you will undertake work experience in the Health and Social care sector in a wide range of settings, which is essential in order to contextualise learning and to clarify career aspirations
An Access NI check will be undertaken for all learners at the commencement of their course.

Entry Requirements
Requirements are pre-defined by the College’s admission criteria which are outlined at the beginning of this document. Please note, the minimum tariff accepted for this course in the previous academic year was 260 points.

Where will this course take you
This two year course provides a progression pathway to professional training and education. Past students have progressed to a range of degrees including Social Work, Nursing and Community Work. In addition, this course provides greater access to employability within the Health and Social Care sector.
