Introduction
This 2 year course is designed for students with an interest in Health and Social Care but past experience within the field is not compulsory.
Within the course we look at various professional and managerial aspects of the delivery of Health and Social Care which will help students to understand how health and social care is delivered in this country.
Units in the course range from Communication to Physiology to Managing Human Resources and Health Promotion. We encourage students during the course to put theory into practice in the real world of Health and Social Care delivery.

Assessments are a combination of formative and summative. By
formative we mean that students can gain feedback from the marker
to allow them to gain improved marks on final submission.
Assessment styles include group presentations, essays and
reports.
What are your Career prospects
Many students completing this course would apply for posts in the delivery of Health and Social Care both within the public and private sectors. Many go on to complete degrees in related areas giving them openings in to managerial positions within the Health and Social Care areas.
Entry Requirements
- Candidates must be aged 18 or over AND
- Have four GCSE/GCE/SCEs, one of which should be in English and one in a Maths subject at grade A, B or C (for overseas students grades 1 to 6 credits/distinctions are considered equivalent) OR
- Have Intermediate HSC pass with good grades OR
- provided they can satisfy the college that they are sufficiently motivated AND Where applicants have GCSE grades in English language where the GCSE examining board is not Cambridge or Edexcel or AQA, such applicants must possess at minimum, a valid IELTS score of 5.5 overall, with no individual IELTS score being less than 5.0.
