programme comprises of specific skills required for the industry
along side core units within the first year and more specific
options within the second. Core Units: - Communicating in Health
and Social Care Organisations - Principles of Health and Social
Care Practice - Health and Safety in the Health and Social Care
Workplace - Personal and Professional Development in Health and
Social Care - Working in Partnership in Health and Social Care
Underpinning Skills - Equip individuals with underpinning
knowledge, understanding and skills for success in employment in
the health and/or social care sector at a supervisory or management
level. - Provide specialist studies relevant to individual
vocations and professions in which learners are working or in which
they intend to seek employment in the health and/or social care
sector. - Develop the ability of learners to contribute to the
health and social care environment through effective use and
combination of the How will I be Taught? Teaching and learning
through taught sessions, group work, role play, self study and
practical tasks. There will also be a number of trips to help
enhance the learning experience for the students. Students will
have access to a wide range of reading materials and IT resources
when within sessions. How will I be Assessed? Student assessment
involves one or two assignments per module; a mid-module and an
end-of-module assignment. These may be Pass, Merit or Distinction
outcomes. Each year an External Examiner (EE) from Edexcel assesses
the quality of the HNC work and teaching. What our students say?
