JCP Pre to Work in Adult Social Care (A)

Who is this course for? This course is designed for those considering entering a career into working in Adult Social Care. There is no need for any previous knowledge. The course is an introduction and will help prepare you with knowledge and understanding of this interesting and rewarding sector. What qualifications or experience do I need ? No qualifications are needed to get on to the course as its offering people a fresh start approach to gaining qualifications. What will I study ? You will be required to attend college for 8 weeks on a Thursday and Friday at Southgate College. Thursday 9.30am-3pm Friday 9.30am-3pm You will study in a classroom and will be required to do some independent learning in your own time. The course includes: Introduction to the Adult Social Care Sector Introduction to the Values and Principles of Adult Social Care Awareness of the Skills and Attitudes Needed to Work in Adult Social Care Awareness of Communication in Adult Social Care Awareness of the Role and Responsibilities of the Adult Social Care Worker Food Safety in Health and Social Care Emergency Aid in the workplace Health and Safety in Health and Social Care Fire Safety Awareness How will I be assessed ? Assessment will be through completion of workbooks What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion you could achieve the Following: Edexcel Level 1 Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Edexcel - Award in Food Safety in Health and Social Care and Early Years and Childcare Settings Edexcel-Fire Safety Awareness Following courses are Barnet and Southgate internal Certificates Emergency Aid in the workplace Health and Safety in Health and Social Care Fire Safety Awareness What can the course lead to ?
