Who is this course for? This course is for Adults aged 19 and above This qualification is intended for candidates who want to take the next step in training to become a counsellor (having already acquired counselling skills); learn more about counselling theory and agency work What qualifications or experience do I need ? Candidates are required to have undertaken counselling skills training - e.g. CPCAB's Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2) or equivalent units/qualifications of at least 75 Guided learning Hours What will I study ? Each unit has a learning outcome and assessment criteria which needs to be met in order for candidates to successfully complete the course. To evidence learning and the criteria, students are required to produce a weekly journal; at least one self-review; a 10 minute presentation to the class following a visit to Counselling Service or Agency and a written evaluation; they will need to give and receive feedback on skills practice sessions and to complete an External Assessment set by the exam board. Further you will present a case and complete written assignment. To pass the course both portfolio work and the External Assessment need to be marked as 'proficient' How will I be assessed ? Completion of Portfolio of Evidence and an exam. What qualifications could I achieve ? Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies What can the course lead to ? Successful candidates may progress onto CPCAB's Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4) - provided that CPCAB's Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2), or its RPL equivalent, is first acquired in addition to CST-L3 How do I join the course ?
