Introduction
Aylesbury College offers Initial Teacher Training courses for Further and Adult Education. On successful completion of PTLLS students can apply for the Diploma to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) which is validated by Bucks New University. This course runs for 2 years. Applicants must be teaching in Further or Adult education and be able to provide evidence of at least 75 hours of teaching practice each year. How Will I Be Assessed?
The process of grading and moderating work is bound by University regulations. Students submit 5 assignments in year one and 4 in year two. Observations of the trainee teachers’ teaching is a mandatory part of the course.Entry Requirements
You will already hold a Level 3 qualification (or above) in the subject you wish to teach, be teaching in Further or Adult education and be able to provide evidence of at least 75 hours of teaching practice each year. It is not a requirement of the diploAdditional Information
Part-time attendance on the course is one afternoon per week (Monday afternoon in year one and Thursday afternoon in year two). It is expected that students are present and punctual to all sessions and engage in all activities to demonstrate professionalProgression
