How long is the course?
This course is a full-time course that runs for one year.How will I be assessed?
The course is mainly assessed on the coursework that you complete. You will be set a number of assignments to challenge and test your knowledge throughout the course. Edexcel will be setting an external assessment from 2012.What does the course lead to?
This course will prepare you for employment and provides a good grounding to go onto a more advanced course such as the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT. Normally a candiate needs to show a high level of performance and commitment to progress onto our level 3. With further training or study you can go onto a career as a trainee programmer, traninee web developer or a role in IT services.Entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade D or equivalent. You will also need to undergo an interview. Familiarity with computers and computer terminology would be an advantage. References from school or employers would also support an application.How much does it cost?
You will be give access to all the software and hardware that you will need to complete this course, however we do suggest that you purchase a box file and several plastic document wallets to help you store and present your work.
