Performing Arts (Acting) Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma

This course is designed for those who are interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of theatre through workshops and performance opportunities.

Description

The course concentrates on the practical and contextual skills needed to produce quality devised and text-based performance work. These may include voice and speech, acting techniques, text work, devising, movement and improvisation.
Functional Skills also form part of the course.

Entry requirements

A Level 2 Diploma or equivalent in a related subject with a Merit profile, or four GCSEs at grade C or above including English (or a recognised literacy/communication qualification).

Mature applicants who do not have these qualifications may still be eligible, subject to interview.

All applicants need to demonstrate an interest in and commitment to all aspects of performing arts and are required to attend an interview with tutors. In addition, all applicants are required to take an active part in a drama workshop and perform a prepared audition piece which will assess your skills and abilities to work both individually and as part of a creative team.
