This course will give you an overview of the uniformed public services and enable progression to higher level courses.

Description

The course is a mix of both classroom-based study and practical work with some activity based units. This will help you explore the requirements for a career within a public service organisation.

Functional Skills are a mandatory part of the course and you will be required to study either Maths, English or ICT which will be determined by your previous achievements in these subjects. These qualifications are designed to enhance your employment opportunities.

What does the course lead to?

Employment possibilities within a wide range of uniformed and non uniformed public services such as police, fire and rescue service, prison service and the armed forces.

What can I go on to study?

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Uniformed Public Services; however, a merit profile overall will be required.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D (to include English Language and Maths or Science).

Alternatively, an approproate Level 1 qualification would also be accepted.
