Beauty Therapy Level 3

The Beauty Therapy Level 3 is a nationally recognised qualification that allows you, when qualified, to obtain insurance and to practise these therapies.

This is a nationally recognised qualification that allows you to gain insurance to work within the beauty/spa industry.

This recently updated qualification now offers some of the industry's most exciting treatment such as indian head, stone massage and microdermabrasion.
The course is split into six units including body massage, stone massage, Indian head, pre-blended aromatherapy, facial electrical and anatomy and physiology.

How long is the course?

One year.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by an ongoing theory and practical assessment, which is collated and presented in an evidence portfolio.

What will I study?

Stone massage

Electric facials

Aromatherapy

Body massage

Indian head massage

Anatomy and physiology

Business management/health and safety

What does the course lead to?

Salon manager or employment within a range of settings including hotels, leisure centres, cruise ships and health spas.

Running your own business.

Retail consultancy.

Work in a cosmetics firm.

Alternatively, you could progress to further studies and complete the Foundation Degree Spa (Therapies) available at the college, which includes topics in spa management, human biology and massage techniques.

Entry requirements

You must have a Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy, good communication skills and a general interest in people. All applicants must undergo an interview and theory test.
