Intended learning outcomes

On successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate critical understanding of the role of health professionals in promoting short and longer term health and wellbeing for women infants and families, through support for breastfeeding
  • Critically reflect on the effectiveness of self and others in the support of breastfeeding women
  • Demonstrate critical awareness of international perspectives on infant nutrition
  • Critically analyse the role of peer support for the initiation and maintenance of lactation
  • Demonstrate critical understanding of informed choice regarding infant nutrition, and the sociocultural factors that influence women’s decision-making
