The MA Policy and Practice in Basic Skills Education (ESOL) is for teachers, trainers, team leaders and heads of department/section who work in the field of ESOL teaching.You will consider the different contexts in which English language teaching and learning takes place and learn about the latest research in the field. You will also explore the development of ESOL provision and the impact of external factors, such as political and historical events, and how they have affected the teaching of English as a second language.
You will learn about theories and principles of ESOL provision and relate these to your personal practice.
