This course provides a sound education in computing in general, but particularly in systems analysis and the design, development and testing of software systems. Topics covered include information systems, visual programming, systems analysis, data structures, relational databases, networks and programming for the internet.
A project, undertaken individually towards the end of the course, allows you to integrate and use your new skills to develop an application. The associated report will demonstrate your competence in this area and is likely to prove helpful in job interviews.

If you do not meet the entry requirements to start directly on our BSc (Hons) degree, the HND offers you the opportunity to begin your university studies. If you achieve a merit profile at the end of the first year of the HND you can transfer to the second year of the BSc (Hons) Computing programme and complete your studies in three years.
Alternatively, on successful completion of the two year HND you will be able to top-up to the BSc (Hons) Computing by an additional 18 months of study.
