Entry Requirements:
Interview required
Ideally at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, of which two must be maths and English, although 4 will be considered if subjects are relevant. All applicants will be interviewed and will have an aptitude test and those offered a place will be required to undertake internal assessments during induction, to help determine appropriate course entry level on the computing pathway.
Assessment:
Each unit is assessed through a series of internally set assignments. Some units may also be assessed via examinations.
Progression from this course:
The level 3 extended diploma is equivalent
to three A-levels, which therefore allows the candidate, on passing
the course, to apply for university entrance. Most students go on
to study either for a foundation degree in computing or to read for
a BSc in computing.
Those students who decide not to continue their education will
stand a very good chance of finding work in some aspect of
computing/information technology.
