Description

This course is for anyone wishing to develop practical skills in how to monitor, maitain and provide spa treatments. Learners will gain skills and knowledge and the understanding needed to perform professional spa treatments for clients via employment or self employment in the beauty therapy or complementary therapy industry. You will also develop a sound knowledge of how to monitor and maintain health and safety practices in a salon environment and how to promote client care and communications in beauty related industries.

Students will learn through demonstrations, practical observations and home study (expected 2-4 hours per week).

Entry Requirements:

No interview required

Candidates should be well motivated, keen to learn and prepared to work hard to achieve and develop their skills. Good written and verbal communication skills and a professional attitude.

Assessment:

Assessments are carried out using four methods, observation of practical competence, short assignments, oral questioning and written mandatory tests. A portfolio of work is built up during the course and used as part of the assessment process.

Progression from this course:

Candidates can progress into other areas of the beauty therapy industry or complemetary therapy industry and/or directly into employment or self employment with this qualification.
