Motor Vehicle - Service and Repair Level 2

The course offers a comprehensive grounding in theoretical and practical aspects of motor vehicle repair. This includes aspects of customer care and health and safety as well as the vocational aspects related to engines, electrical units, chassis units and transmission units. 50% of learning outcomes and assessments are workshop based activities.
The course is normally run as a follow on from Motor Vehicle - Service and Repair Level 1, although entry is permitted if prior knowledge or qualifications can be proven. All learning outcomes are assessed on real jobs after competence has been proven.

Entry Requirements:
Interview required
4 GCSE's grade D or above. Vocational qualifications will be considered on their own merit. You will be required to successfully pass an interview showing enthusiasm and commitment towards this course. Individual cases outside of this criteria will be considered on their own merits
Assessment:
A portfolio of practical and theory based exercises will be produced. In addition, there are externally set on-line tests to complete.
Progression from this course:
The next available and logical step would be to find a placement with an employer as an apprentice or to move into full time employment.

Course Costs:
All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information.
