Introduction to Plumbing and Electrical Skills Level 1

This course offers a focused qualification for learners wishing to follow a programe of study that is directly related to their work experience, or to an aspect of employment that they wish to move into in due course. It provides skills and knowledge to enable successful students to progress on to a level 2 qualification in plumbing or electrical installation.

Skills covered include:
Brazing/soldering skills, pipe bending and basic electrical skills.

End Qualification:

On successful completion of this course, the candidate will be awarded nationally recognised qualifications in Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 and Functional Skills

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

3 GCSE's grade E or above or entry qualifications at entry level 3. You will be required to successfully pass an interview showing enthusiasm and commitment towards this course. Individual cases outside of this criteria will be considered on their own merits.

Assessment:

Portfolio/practical tasks and exam (functional skills).

Progression from this course:

You may progress to level 2 certificate in basic plumbing studies or City & Guilds 2330 level 2 electrotechnical certificate (electrical installation).

Course Costs:

All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees).
