Each one of the following units is assessed by online test and observation of you performing tasks in the workplace Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance.
- Locating and Correcting Simple Electrical Faults
- Enhancing Vehicle Electrical Systems
- Overhauling of Electrical Units
- Inspecting Vehicles Using Prescribed Methods
- Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Electrical Units and Components
- Health, Safety and Good Housekeeping
- Supporting Job Roles
- Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices
The course typically takes twelve months. However, your assessor will have to observe a wide range of activities and this is more likely to determine the duration. All units are assessed by workplace assessment and on-line tests. Some units may have written assessments too.
Course Entry RequirementsTo apply for this course, you must be employed in the industry and looking to prove your competency in a range of paint repair skills. Entry is by interview and satisfactory initial assessment. A good standard of English and Maths is beneficial.
The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:
- More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
- 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
- 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
- 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
- Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost
All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.
