Full TimeThis course is an introduction to the Sport and Public Service
industries and allows the learner to sample elements of modules
from both Sport and Public Services. You will have the choice to
specialise in either the Sport route or the Public Service route
and will gain experience in health and fitness activities.
Those learners choosing to follow the Sports route will cover modules on Health and fitness, Sports event planning and how the body works. All learners will gain additional qualifications including the Post 16 WBQ, the NCFE in sport and active leisure and a variety of Essential and wider skills.
How you will gain the qualification
Most components of the course are continually assessed using written and practical work and rely on an excellent level of attendance.
What qualifications you need
At least 4 GCSEs at grade E or above including English or successful completion of a relevant entry level qualification. Entry onto this programme is subject to a successful interview.
Where to next
Successful students may seek employment within the sport and recreation industry, the services or progress onto a relevant Level 2 course.
