- MUSS Coaching Philosophy Practical and theory study of the MUSS Coaching Curriculum also supporting the following core modules:
Sports Coaching – Develops understanding and knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, skills and techniques of a football coach and how to apply them whilst coaching and/ or leading sports sessions including working with all abilities and nationalities the MUSS Way.
Organising Sports Events – Explores the concepts, knowledge, skills and qualities needed to successfully lead a football event including Planning, Delivering & Coordinating MUSS Courses.
Talent Identification and Development in Sport – Provides an understanding of the different predictors of talent and the ways of developing talent including how MUSS support the ongoing development of young players.
Technical and Tactical Skills in Sport – Enables learners to assess their own and others technical and tactical skills, and plan their own football development linked to the MUSS Curriculum.
Work Experience in Sport - Delivery on MUSS programs
If you are accepted onto this course without a Grade C or above in Maths and/or English you will be required to complete the relevant Essential Skills qualification. This will be a compulsory part of your timetable.
Course Aims
To provide the necessary knowledge and skills to gain employment in the wide variety of Sports Careers. To investigate also the breadth of the Sports Industry, from Health and Fitness; Coaching, Teaching and Instruction; Sports Therapy; Health Promotion; Sports Development. To establish a basis, through appropriate achievement, for continuing education and career development. A Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is a practical workrelated course. You learn by completing projects and assignments which are based on realistic workplace activities and demands.
