Sport Exercise Science Diploma Level 3

Who is this course for?

If you have a passion for sport and you are interested in a career in the sport, exercise and fitness industry, then this course is for you.

What will I do on the course?

You will develop skills and knowledge that will prepare you for a range of jobs in the sports industry or further study. You will study a range of topics which may include:

• Anatomy & physiology in sport
• Sports coaching
• Sports development
• Practical team sports
• Sports nutrition
• Sports injuries
• Sport and exercise massage

In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits. Physical Requirements: You will be required to take part in practical and fitness sessions both indoors and outdoors.

What qualifications do I need?

• 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English or Maths, OR
• 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C excluding English or Maths, OR
• Level 2 qualification in a related subject
• Adequate standard of English and Maths
• Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
• You should have a strong interest in sport and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Are there any additional costs?

Learners may be required to purchase some personal items for use on the course (eg trainers, jogging bottoms, shorts, football boots). In addition there may be extra curricular trips which have an additional cost. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
