Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 2

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

4 GCSEs at grade D or above preferably including English and Science. Alternatively, successful completion of a Level 1 Diploma in Hair & Beauty or the Level 2 Principal Learning Diploma is also acceptable. Applications from mature students without formal qualifications are welcomed provided they demonstrate sufficient interest in the subject. Candidates must have good interpersonal skills, a smart appearance and an interest in beauty and fashion. You will be required to successfully pass an interview showing enthusiasm and commitment towards this subject. Individual cases will be considered on their own merits.

Assessment:

There are four types of assessment, demonstration of practical competence, short assignment and projects, oral questioning and written tests. A portfolio of work is built up during the time spent at College.

Progression from this course:

On successful completion of this course, the achivement of satisfactory attendance and progress review, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 3.

Opportunities exist within Beauty Salons, Health Hydros, on cruise liners and overseas. There are also opportunities within photographic studios/model agencies and the field of beauty journalism, although it must be stressed that these are extremely competitive areas.

Course Costs:

All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information. Beauty therapy kits and uniforms and recommended textbooks. Kit lists will be discussed at interview.

Additional Information:

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be eligible to apply to the college's learner support fund for financial support with the costs associated with your studies.
