LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN BEAUTY THERAPY

The format of Level 2 is a ten unit award comprising the following units: Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety, Promote additional products or services to clients, Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work, Improve and maintain facial skin condition Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments, Remove hair using waxing techniques, Provide manicure treatment, Provide pedicure treatment, Fulfil salon reception duties, Provide make-up treatment. All students will undertake Essential Skills Wales in Communication, I.T and Numeracy. This gives greater breadth to students learning, providing the skills and personal qualities that employers and higher education institutions are looking for.

How you will gain the qualification

The course work is by continuous assessment. Assessment is by practical observation, oral questioning, written work and externally set examinations.

What qualifications you need

This course is suited to those working in the Hair and Beauty industry.

It is recommended that candidates will have achieved 4 GCSEs at D or equivalent and demonstrate that they are qualified to level 1 or equivalent for essential skills in communication and numeracy. You will be required to attend an Interview and a skill assessment prior to course entry.
