Digital Photography (ACL)
This course is designed to give you the confidence to move away from the automatic settings on your camera and experiment with adjustments such as shutter speed and aperture size. Other aspects of photography included on this fascinating course are:
- Speed settings
- Depth of field
- Flash photography
- Composition
- Landscape photography
- Macro photography
- Portraiture
Some image manipulation will be included but this will not be the main focus of this course.
End Qualification:
There is no specific qualification but a college certificate is available if requested by the tutor.

Assessment:
Learners will be assessed throughout the course. Progress will be monitored against targets set by the tutor and learner at the commencement of the course. These targets will include a combination of learning outcomes specified by the tutor and the learners own personal aims and objectives. Learner progress towards all of these targets will be reviewed and recorded in an Individual Learning plan, during and at the end of the course.
Progression from this course:
There will be opportunity to progress onto
other similar or associated courses on successful completion. The
possibilities will be discussed by the tutor at an appropriate
stage. Please be sure to ask your tutor.
It may be possible to progress onto an accredited course either
with the College or other local provider. Advice on possible
progression into accredited provision at the College of West Anglia
is outlined in your learner guide.
