End Qualification:
BTEC Extended Diploma in Production Arts
(equivalent to 3 A levels)
You will work towards the 90 credit subsidiary diploma
qualification in the first year of the course and achieve the
extended diploma in the second year.
Entry Requirements:
Interview required
5 GCSE's grade C or above, with a minimum grade C or above in either English or Maths and a creative subject. Vocational qualifications in relevant subjects will be accepted as GCSE equivalent. Alternatively, successful completion of a level 2 diploma at merit grade is also acceptable. You will be required to successfully pass an interview with a demonstration of enthusiasm and commitment towards the subject area and bring examples of craft and art work. Individual cases will be considered on their own merits.
Assessment:
Subjects are studied and monitored by a process of continuous assessment and in-course testing projects and assignments. There is a final major project in your second year.
Progression from this course:
This course will equip clients to undertake a variety of make-up and special effect occupations in stage, screen, television and video commercials. As this is a specialised field successful clients will have the necessary qualifications to commence on a most rewarding career or perhaps enter higher education on a foundation degree or degree course.

Course Costs:
All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information. Kit lists will be discussed upon interview. There may also be the opportunity for students to participate in external educational visits. Costs may be subject to change.
