End Qualification:

OCR Life & Living Skills Entry Level 2 & Asdan Personal Progress

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

There are no formal entry requirements but learners are expected to show a positive attitude to learning.
An initial interview visit is followed by a pre–entry assessment taster. This provides an opportunity to assess whether the course will be able to meet the needs of the student.

Assessment:

Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the academic year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. Learners are assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units. The online PDP system allows for the learner to log in and view their progress and targets so they are always aware of their achievement to date. Three annual reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.

Progression from this course:

Progression from this course is always determined by the needs of the individual. All relevant professionals are involved in supporting and guiding students through all stages in the process of progression from the course.
Students on the Becoming Independent course usually progress onto another course within The Centre for Foundation Studies. An opportunity to discuss progression in detail is usually via a Progress Evening held in March
