LLDD E1 - 2 Pre-Vocational Skills 1

Who is this course for? School leavers with learning disabilities who wish to progress onto further college courses & training programmes and develop skills for independence. Students need to be working between Milestone 7 and Entry Level1 which will mean students will have basic reading/writing skills and a level of communication skills. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Milestone 7 Entry 1. Students are indivually assessed in line with college health & safety guidelines to ascertain support required. What will I study ? Shopping & Cooking Basic Skills & Computers Community Skills Horticulture Homecare Skills Careers Sports & Recreation Enterprise Personal Development Drama & Movement Group & Individual tutorial Travel Training Arts, craft, pottery & photography Work Experience. How will I be assessed ? Interview, pre-view week, initial diagnostic assessment. All students work towards their own learning goals & ILPs to progress and achieve which is recorded and celebrated through the National Skills Profile award. What qualifications could I achieve ? National Skills Award. What can the course lead to ? BTEC entry courses, training programmes, resource centres,part-time college courses. How do I join the course ? An interview and short assessment are necessary for entry onto this course. Applicants will be invited to an interview and are required to attend a college preview course in the summer term.
