This course is ideal for students that are not quite ready to complete a 2 year course. The course will provide students with more understanding / application to theory work. Will prepare students for working in industry.

- Feed
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Principles of basic animal nursing assistance
- Companion animal parasitology and zoonosis
- Nutrition
- Restraint and handling
You will also complete additional qualifications and functional skills in the following:
- NCFE Certificate in Developing Enterprise Skills Level 2
- NCFE Award in Employability Skills Level 1
- Functional Skills English L2
- PSD L2 Certificate
- Work experience - completed on study days

Entry Requirements:
Interview required
3 GCSE's at D plus 1 C grade (in any
subject) or full completion of our current level 2 qualification
with course director reference and excellent attendance/reports.
Students should be at least 16 years old and be able to show an
enthusiastic and positive interest in an animal career.
For some students an agreement will be reached to comply with an
academic contract from the start of the course. Consideration will
be given to exceptional circumstances.
Assessment:
You will build up a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed by a combination of written tests, projects, exam, assignment work and demonstration of competence in a range of practical tasks.

Course Costs:
All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information.
