Description

Are you working with animals in a responsible role at work and wishing to further your qualification? Then the Advanced Apprenticeship is for you. While working full time in an animal care establishment, you will come into college on day release for about two years, during which time you will gain the practical skills to supervise both the staff and the animals' environment within an animal care establishment, together with the technical skills needed for the course assessment.

Level 3 Diploma in Work-Based Animal Care

Course Content

  • Health, safety and security in the workplace
  • Animal health and welfare
  • Plan, monitor and evaluate the feeding of animals
  • Plan, monitor and evaluate the accommodation of the animals
  • Handle and restrain animals
  • Plan the movement of animals
  • A number of optional units selected with your tutor
  • Completion of assignement
  • Short written exam paper
  • Functional skills
  • Industial certificates

Attend college on day release. Delivery of units will be through theory and practical instruction.

Entry Requirements

A Level 2 Qualification in Animal Care and Level 2 in numeracy and literacy.

What Next?

Possibly our Foundation Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare (dependant on other qualifications acheived)

Price

While you are on an Apprenticeship, your employer pays you a salary and supports you whilst you undertake your training.

The National Apprenticeship Service will pay the costs of your training depending on your age.
